Celebrating National NAIDOC Week
2 – 9 July, 2023 is National NAIDOC Week where we celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures.
'The 2023 National NAIDOC Week theme is For Our Elders. Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families.'
We are celebrating the week by taking the time to reflect on the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Staff, family and friends have joined the celebration by completing and sharing the 2023 NAIDOC Week colouring-in poster. Completed artworks are on display at the Extended Families office in Coburg.
Support and get to know your local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities through activities and events held across the country.
