There are lots of reasons to volunteer with EFA. The most important one, of course,
is the many children with special needs waiting for someone special to come into their lives.
When you volunteer with EFA you’ll:
meet new people and make long-lasting friendships

enjoy training opportunities and support through access to a range of training and
information sessions, newsletters, monthly peer meetings and regular contact with
your regional coordinator

be invited to social activities and fun days to meet and mingle with other
volunteers, families and children

be appreciated, supported and valued in your role
And, according to our wonderful volunteers, your role will provide:

a sense of purpose and satisfaction

development of personal qualities + skills

an increased understanding of disabilities and families’ needs

rewarding relationships with a child and their family

an opportunity to become more involved in your local community
Extended Families would like to hear from you if you:

enjoy the company of young people

would like to make a difference in the life of a child with special needs
And you can be single or married, with or without children, working or retired.
No previous experience working with children or people with a disability is required.
EFA will provide you with the necessary training, information and support.
All you need is some spare time—as little as 2 hours a fortnight— and to be willing and able to participate in activities with some very special young people.
